Thanks for stopping by my Red Bubble portfolio.

My interest in photography started over 20 years ago & quickly grew into a love. I started out shooting mainly lots of sporting events & vacation photos. I soon found myself taking frequent trips solely for the purpose of taking pictures. Sometimes taking as many as 40 rolls of 36 exposure film in a single weekend trip. Needless to say it took some time before all the rolls got processed from these trips.

As a result of processing LARGE quantities of pictures with my local camera shop, I developed a close relationship with the store owners & employees. They started to suggest I enter some local & regional photo contests, even helping with picking out my entries at first. After a while I started to place in the top three of many of the contest I entered. Shortly after I started wining some of the photo contests people starting buying posters & large framed prints from me. More recently, some of my works have been featured nationally & locally. I owe a ton of thanks to the judges of these contest for critiquing my entries as well as the camera shop employees for helping with my skills.

As digital photography made it’s entry into the world I was forced to take a brief hiatus from photography all together though. This was due to my last camera body suffering a mechanical failure. It was difficult not to be out there shooting pictures but having lived through the Beta/VHS war & seeing what happened to the price of CD systems after they had been out for a while I kind of had to wait. You knew digital was going to be the way but as with everything it was ridiculously priced in the beginning. So now we’re here & I love photography even more. From the click of the shutter, to the editing of individual images, to the printing & finally delivering to the customer. The greatest aspect of my love for photography comes from the fact that when you are out & about there’s always something to photograph.

Well, there you have it, a little history into my photographic journey. Again thanks for stopping by. I hope you like the offerings here on Red Bubble. If you see something you like say hello & leave a comment. I’d greatly appreciate it. Have a great day!

Amazed, to say the least.

I’m not from Australia or a woman (Australian Women Photographers) but am saddened that I cannot leave a comment on their group page. They are currently running a challenge entitled: Your Choice_Submit your best 2012 image. The voting ends in approximately 4 hours from now. If you see my journal entry or their challenge in the voting section before it ends,* I urge you* to stop by and vote …
