Artist's Description

This is the Fairport Harbor West Breakwater Lighthouse built at the mouth of the Grand River in 1925. Best viewed from Mentor Headlands State Park, Ohio. Taken February of 2007. And is part of a compilation in my writing titled: “Desolation’s Parable” my journey. “The frozen lake, the howling, windblown winter grass, represent my desolation and powerlessness against substance abuse, succumbing to it’s throes and possibly of my death, after being on it’s lake of Hell’s wrong doings for 32 years. The lighthouse represents sanctity, the one place I could go for help (Alcoholic’s Anonymous). The beacon of light is our Lord, granting me spiritual hope and salvation, a chance to recover from my addictions, and start anew. Lastly, Above Hell’s grasp, God hearing my cries. I have dedicated this compilation to all recovering alcohol and narcotic substance abusers throughout of the world.
