Artist's Description

For this piece I used a standard ink pen on standard printer paper.

What I was trying to say with this piece is that when a heart gets broken, one feels unable to love again, hence the plot on which the bleeding, broken heart lies. Trust and innocence also feel dead, and one doesn’t know whether or not she is still a good person. It is so easy to fall from someone’s pedestal, hence the title. The necrotic wounds and falling feathers, as well as the scales on the subjects lovely skin, are symbolic for how the feeling of being unworthy, or even evil, can spread like a malignant infection.
