Meretrix fuit (She was a harlot)

The young man ran to the harlot and said “I love you.” The harlot replied fiercly “You do not love me, but it is of no importance.” With that, she threw down her clothes and stood infront of him: fair and beautiful.

..After some time, she said to him “On the contrary, I am in love with an astronomer” And then, the boy was broken hearted.

Artist's Description

A love story about a man who fell in love with a whore, who only had eyes for one man: who was beyond her. Heart-break is imminent; one of my latin teachers refused to correct it because it had the word ‘harlot’ in it.
