My first canvas print...

sold!!!
THANKS, to whoever bought it…

It is avery special piece to me… The kids are my own… and I made a lot of images out of the same original photo… They are depicted as I long to always see them: together, hand in hand to face the harshness and beauty of our world…

I'm speechless...

…and the people that know me know it is such a hard task…no speech…thanks!!!
Two features in the home page…
I’m astonished…THANKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It means a lot!

In a few weeks I’ll be resigning my internet conection for a while… due to personal and financial matters…. so I’m doing as much as possible these days… uploading as much as I can… ;-P
But I’ll be around as much as my telephone conection will allow…

The cycles end and start…

I will lie as a seashell, empty, open, choiceless waiting for the sea to bring a new being to inhabit my surface and enjoy my inner treasure…
The clouds above, my only roof…
they will soon calm my thirst…
as the dry earth keeps the refreshing waves away from me…
Do not fear… The cycles end and start…
It has to begin, again…
Me. 2008

This image has been featured in the Live, Love, Dream Group…THANKS!!! I feel so honored…

The new cast...

…for some of my next works…

This is a bunch of some of the beautiful porcelain dolls a dear friend gave to my daughter Micaela….
I think they are great material for some Photoshop creations… Stay tuned…

What I needed today...

I found this quote and it just made my day….

“If we are always arriving and departing, it is also true that we are eternally anchored. One’s destination is never a place but rather a new way of looking at things.”
Henry Miller

Is there any image among your own you feel can match this quote… or get a sense of it? feel free to post!

Here is mine… Perpetual Travelers

…with a quote that matches Miller’s…

September 11th... Two tragedies to remember...

My condolences to all people in USA… It touches me deeply your tragedy….
I hope we can all learn to live in peace… respecting our differencies……

But to be honest, there was an earlier tragedy to our latin american people that we live sadly every year since 1973… Because it was the beginning of the most violent an awful part of our history in the region…
September 11th,1973 Chilean coup d’état…
The Chilean coup d’état of 1973 was a watershed event in the history of Chile and the Cold War. Historians and partisans alike have wrangled over its implications ever since.
On September 11, 1973, less than two months after the first failed coup attempt (Tanquetazo), and less than a month after the Chamber of Deputies, where the Opposition held a majority, condemned Allende’s alleged breaches of the co

Love and Joy... I'm going after you!

Among the hatred and selfishness around we have to get our joy back, and nurture love…. if not, we are lost.

En medio del odio y la mezquindad, hay que salir a recuperar la alegría y alimentar el amor…. si no, estamos perdidos.

Sorry for not being so comunicative…. I’m coming out little by little…
Daniela

Thanks for being featured in home page!!!

My pic “La soledad” was featured in home page, and I feel very happy !…

This image (along with the others of the series) are very dear to me. It is the first time I was comisioned to make images, and besides, they are used in a theater play! This is important for my art and my “career”, but they are most dear because of the meaning, and the search paths they opened for me….for my innerself…
They’ve been very important for my growing as a person… recognizing aspects, feelings and stories that were kept in the trunk for so long…

I want to thank all the people who took the time to comment on my work…I really apreciate every comment…. and I very much feel the encouragement each comment or hello message give to me.
Thanks a lot dear friends!
And also, forgive me for not being so partipative these

This country hurts! Este país duele!!

This country hurts!

We never learn.
We keep on opening wounds.
We keep on being selfish.
We keep on being coup seekers.
We keep on being racists.
We keep on looking to another side
We keep on crying over past mistakes
that could have been prevented
and we keep on crushing against
the same stone over and over again…

I can’t stop feeling this anguish
I can’t stop bleeding
I can’t stop feeling ashamed
I can’t stop crying…

I think we are letting pass the smallest chance, at least the smallest chance to
demand.
We are trying to bring back someone with “strong hand” that will keep getting water to the same old mills, without droping a single drop to the really thirsty people…
And by the time we became thirsty,
It will be too late…

My entry to Lld3 with words by Rosa Cobos

Thanks Rosa!!!!

Rosa Cobos

Free translation (by me):
“There go the kids
hungry of love.
Two full breasts wait for them,
the earth eager to nurture them.
And by their side
the tree of life dies…
Grown ups could not take proper care of it.
grown ups…
full of fears,
ready for criticism,
too stuck on their shoes’
without dreams
without strengh in their feet”

Myths, Legends, and Fairy Tales

“Obsessed by a fairy tale, we spend our lives searching for a magic door and a lost kingdom of peace.”
Eugene O’Neill

“When fairy tales are written in the west, they’re known as folklore. In the east, fairy tales are called religions.”

Grounds for...

I found this quote today and found it very wise… and wanted to share it with you.

“In every marriage more than a week old, there are grounds for divorce. The trick is to find, and continue to find, grounds for marriage.”
Robert Anderson

The best season of your life

A friend shared this poem, and I loved it!

*Ten thousand flowers in spring,
the moon in autumn,
a cool breeze in summer,
snow in winter.

If your mind isn’t clouded
by unnecessary things,
this is the best season of your life.

-Wu Men*

Let’s enjoy it!

The interview with Daniela M. Casalla
March 28, 2008
Interviewed by: Deb aka TrEaSuReDiMaGeS
(Moderator/Host of the Happy Haven Group)

How long have you been an artist on the redbubble?
I’ve joined redbubble in January 2008.
I’m so happy here, I feel so at home.

What country are you from?
I’m from Argentina.

Tell us a little bit about yourself….
I’m a mother of two, and live with my husband and kids in Buenos Aires city, Argentina.
I come from an artistic background (of musicians and visual artists) since most of my family developed artistic careers. The strange thing is that I’m the first woman in the Casalla family who are trying to pursue a career in

PEACE IS IN OUR HANDS

“…each war carried within itself, the war which will answer it. Each war is answered by another war, until everything is destroyed…That is why I’m so wholeheartedly for a radical end to the madness…Pacifism simply is not a matter of calm looking on; it is work, hard work…those lovely small apples out there…everything could be so beautiful if it were not for the insanity of war…one day, a new idea will arise and there will be an end of all wars…People will have to work hard for that new state of things, but they will achieve it.”Kathe Kollwitz (1867 – 1945) Germany“If you insist upon fighting to protect me, or ‘our’ country, let it be understood, soberly and rationally between us, th

"Gift of love"

“We’ve got this gift of love, but love is like a precious plant. You can’t just accept it and leave it in the cupboard or just think it’s going to get on by itself. You’ve got to keep watering it. You’ve got to really look after it and nurture it.”
John Lennon

“Love and peace are eternal.”
John Lennon

Iron Will

“The sea is dangerous and its storms terrible, but these obstacles have never been sufficient reason to remain ashore… Unlike the mediocre, intrepid spirits seek victory over those things that seem impossible… It is with an iron will that they embark on the most daring of all endeavors… to meet the shadowy future without fear and conquer the unknown.”
—ANON

"To be worth making at all a journey"

“To be worth making at all a journey has to be made in the mind as much as in the world of objects and dimensions. What value can there be in seeing or experiencing anything for the first time unless it comes as a revelation? And for that to happen, some previously held thought or belief must be confounded, or enhanced, or even transcended. What difference can it make otherwise to see a redwood tree, a tiger, or a humming bird?”
-Ted Simon, Jupiter’s Travels

The Dance

by Oriah Mountain Dreamer

I have sent you my invitation,
the note inscribed on the palm of my hand by the fire of living.
Don’t jump up and shout, “Yes, this is what I want! Let’s do it!”
Just stand up quietly and dance with me.

Show me how you follow your deepest desires,
spiralling down into the ache within the ache.
And I will show you how I reach inward and open outward
to feel the kiss of the Mystery, sweet lips on my own, everyday.

Don’t tell me you want to hold the whole world in your heart.
Show me how you turn away from making another wrong without abandoning yourself when you are hurt and afraid of being unloved.

Tell me a story of who you are,
And see who I am in the stories I am living.
And together we will remember that each of us always has a choice.

Don’t tell me how wonderful thing

THE INVITATION

It doesn’t interest me what you do for a living. I want to know what you ache for and if you dare to dream of meeting your heart’s longing.…

It doesn’t interest me how old you are. I want to know if you will risk looking like a fool for love, for your dream, for the adventure of being alive.

It doesn’t interest me what planets are squaring your moon. I want to know if you have touched the centre of your own sorrow, if you have been opened by life’s betrayals or have become shrivelled and closed from fear of further pain.

I want to know if you can sit with pain, mine or your own, without moving to hide it, or fade it, or fix it.

I want to know if you can be with joy, mine or your own; if you can dance with wildness and let the ecstasy fill you to the tips of your fingers and toes without ca

The Journey

One day you finally knew
what you had to do, and began,
though the voices around you
kept shouting
their bad advice
though the whole house
began to tremble
and you felt the old tug
at your ankles.
“Mend my life!”
each voice cried.
But you didn’t stop.
You knew what you had to do,
though the wind pried
with its stiff fingers
at the very foundations,
though their melancholy
was terrible.
It was already late
enough, and a wild night,
and the road full of fallen
branches and stones.
But little by little,
as you left their voices behind,
the stars began to burn
through the sheets of clouds,
and there was a new voice
which you slowly
recognized as your own,
that kept you company
as you strode deeper and deeper
into the world,
determined to do
the only thing you could do
determined to save
the only life you could save.…

All the True Vows

All the true vows
are secret vows
the ones we speak out loud
are the ones we break.…

There is only one life
you can call your own
and a thousand others
you can call by any name you want.

Hold to the truth you make
every day with your own body,
don’t turn your face away.

Hold to your own truth
at the center of the image
you were born with.

Those who do not understand
their destiny will never understand
the friends they have made
nor the work they have chosen
nor the one life that waits
beyond all the others.

By the lake in the wood
in the shadows
you can
whisper that truth
to the quiet reflection
you see in the water.

Whatever you hear from
the water, remember,
it wants you to carry
the sound of its truth on your lips.

Remember,
in this place
no one can hear you
and out of the silence
you can make a promise
it will ki

INNER PEACE

*WALKING MEDITATION

Take my hand.
We will walk.
We will only walk.
We will enjoy our walk
without thinking of arriving anywhere.
Walk peacefully.
Walk happily.
Our walk is a peace walk.
Our walk is a happiness walk.

Then we learn
that there is no peace walk;
that peace is the walk;
that there is no happiness walk;
that happiness is the walk.
We walk for ourselves.
We walk for everyone
always hand in hand.

Walk and touch peace every moment.
Walk and touch happiness every moment.
Each step brings a fresh breeze.
Each step makes a flower bloom under our feet.
Kiss the Earth with your feet.
Print on Earth your love and happiness.

Earth will be safe
when we feel in us enough safety.
