Artist's Description

Violin Annie
By Darren Bailey LRPS

Harriet Annie, or “Violin Annie” the daughter of Dr. Winfield and Eoline Marshall. Annie died in 1890, a few weeks after her eleventh birthday.
Annie was a violinist that loved to play for her friends and family.
Folklore has it that if you go by the cemetery late at night you can hear “Violin Annie,” playing her violin.
It is said that Annie died of diphtheria but local folklore says that her own father killed her with her violin and that you can occasionally also hear Annie cry.

Piece created using a Nikon D90 and a Sigma 150mm f2.8 macro.
