Artist's Description

Feather stars feed mostly at night, when there is more plankton around for them to filter from the water. During the day, they are often found curled up into little colourful balls, looking like black and gold submarine Christmas ornaments. Great Barrier Reef, Australia.

Canon EOS 5D MkII; Canon EF 8-15mm f/4L Fisheye USM lens; Seacam housing; Seaflash 150 strobes.
