Green sea turtle, Raine Island, Great Barrier Reef.
Raine Island is the world’s largest green turtle rookery and my dives there in December 2013 certainly lived up to that reputation- there were more turtles in the water than any other visit. The females typically go on to the island at dusk to nest and lay eggs. During the day they rest in the waters around the island.
