Artist's Description

We watched Whitney as a young girl, enter our lives, our hearts our souls.
With her charming smile bubbly personality and heavenly voice we were adopted.
We watched as she captured our attention with her heart felt songs.
And like many we lost our hearts to her magical embrace.
She embraced us with her voice each and every time we listened to her sing.
We were lifted to a place that she created.
A place few have taken listener’s to.
And I like millions of others fell in love with her magic.
We watched her grow up and develop into a richer singer and talent.
And as she grew we grew with her.
She took us with her on her journey.
She took us with her as she tried new things and walked outside her comfort zone.
She was a traveler before many of us knew how to travel.
And she taught many of us how to step outside of our small world and take bolder steps.
To dream.
We followed in Whitney’s steps.
As Whitney grew older got married we joined her in her happiness.
We joined her in her motherhood and in her struggles to be a wife and singer.
We cried as she cried with her many challenges.
And like her we fell as she fell and stumbled as she stumbled.
We all watched in silent horror as she fell from the throne we had placed her on.
A throne well deserved but one to full of lofty expectations for even an angel to sit on.
And as she fell our dreams fell with her.
We cried with her and hurt with her as she struggled to find her way..
As she fell deeper some turned their backs on her and many laughed.
Not all but too many.
And many forgot our lovely child we had watched grow wings and fly.
Sadly it seems to be the human condition to run when one needs help.
Sadly too many of us in our laughter forgot she was crying too.
The ones she gave so much to and I would think received so much from, hurt her with their laughter.
I think of her and think we all could learn something from this sad story.
We all could learn to see in her the struggle we all have as humans.
Some stronger than others and some able to reach inside and find away to come back.
I like many never gave up on Whitney she was me and you and all of us.
She was a dreamer like all of us.
And she was a fighter like most of us.
I watch as many did and cheered her on as she began to fly again.
I like many wondered how long before she found her way again.
I like many wished her the best on her return.
And like the world who missed her I cried when I heard the news she passed away.
She was a angel with wings of gold.
She flew where talented singers dream of singing but have never journeyed.
She sang with the Gods and we were so lucky to hear her voice so pure.
Few have sang so lovely and so proudly.
Whitney did she never let you down.
She will be missed she will always be loved and she will never be forgotten.
She was our heart and soul she was golden.
