When I was at Turimetta Beach yesterday I had to leave earlier than I wanted as I was out of batteries for my camera. The sky and light was just beautiful and the water was calm.
I went back up today as I was wanting to defy the weather to try and get that same feeling. Today was a completely different matter with literally gale force winds and salt spray off the water.
While these photos may look calm, they are a lie. I couldn’t let go of my tripod and had to keep cleaning the salt water off my lens to get these photos. This isn’t water idly flowing over rocks like yesterday, I had to run down between waves and try to get a frame or two before quickly getting out of the way of the next big swell.
Perhaps I should have just gone down to manly and photographed the boats washed up in the storm, perhaps I will leave that for tomorrow.
