Artist's Description

Here’s the challenge: You can write your own title for this shot. It can be funny, punny, quirky, poignant, reflective, historical, hysterical – anything you like.

All you have to do to enter is submit your title as a comment here.

Yes, you can enter as many times as you want, on as many days as you want. You can keep coming back, looking at other people’s titles and keep adding your own. The contest will close at midday (Melbourne time) on Friday 26 February, which is 3am Friday in London and 10pm Thursday in New York.

There’s only one rule: no profanity. Have fun …. I’m throwing the gauntlet down NOW!

This image was shot at the Alexandra Gardens in Melbourne, as the Moomba fairground was being cleared in 2007.

I do not crop, enhance or post-edit my images in any way. Shot with a Pentax K100D, using a Sigma 18-125mm lens. F5.6, 1/10 sec, ISO 800, focal length 88mm.

Featured in STATUES AND SUCH, February 2011.

In ninth place we have KensPics with ``Dang, I thought that cord marked INFLATION was just going to provide me with an analysis of the economy before my flight!!!’’

In sixth place we have Carla Jensen with ``Air Patrol: Sir, how many drinks have you have today? Astronaut: Ummmmm, one, yeah that’s it! hiccup. Noooo, really it was only one drink … hiccup …. I can fly, no problem, I just can’t seem to stand up.’’
