Artist's Description

Here’s the challenge: You can write your own title for this shot. It can be funny, punny, quirky, poignant, reflective, historical, hysterical – anything you like.

All you have to do to enter is submit your title as a comment here.

Yes, you can enter as many times as you want, on as many days as you want. You can keep coming back, looking at other people’s titles and keep adding your own. The contest will be open for just over 48 hours and will close at midday (Melbourne time) on Monday 29 November, which is 3am Friday in London and 10pm Thursday in New York.

There’s only one rule: no profanity. Have fun …. I’m throwing the gauntlet down NOW!

This shot was taken during a public event called The Great Australian Sunny Sizzle at Federation Square, Melbourne, in October 2007.

I do not crop, enhance or post-edit my images in any way. Shot with a Pentax K100D, using a Sigma 18-125mm lens. F8, 1/250 sec, ISO 200, focal length 108mm.

AND HERE ARE THE RESULTS:

In tenth place we have Jordan Miscamble with ``I feel out of place, carrying this balloon around!’’

In ninth place we have JFPictures ``General Waste was in need of armed guards.’’

In eighth place we have Judi Brettoner with ``I’m wasted, time to check out.’’

In seventh place we have CapturedByKylie with ``I was sure General Waste looked bigger on TV?!’’

In sixth place we have Spencer Copping with ``Stormtrooper Neville left the fair with only a balloon to show for his efforts. Until the Empire design happy looking faces on their helmets he’ll never win the Photo Fun competition.’’

In joint fifth place we have Ranald with ``Conclusive proof that thought bubbles are real,‘’ and Spencer Trickett with ``Wrong General, I’m looking for General Obi Wan Kenobi.’’

In fourth place we have Alex Preiss with ``What a relief! Nothing about me in the Wikileaks documents.’’

In third place we have Pix-Elation with ``You’ve got to help me General, I know Stormtroopers are meant to be tough but how did this kid find out we suffer from Globophobia?’’

In joint second place we have Allen Lucas with ``Away party log, Star date 36C-24-36. After conferencing with the High Commander, General Waste, I can confirm there is no intelligent life on Earth. Returning to the Battlestar,‘’ and Carla Jensen with ``Trying to make the Storm Troopers look more friendly … they are now having to carry around balloons and have their pictures taken with children!’’

AND THE WINNER IS: Georgie Hart with ``They do WHAT to lobsters on this planet?! Perhaps I’d best model my new armour after something else.’’
