Artist's Description

Here’s the challenge: You can write your own title for this shot. It can be funny, punny, quirky, poignant, reflective, historical, hysterical – anything you like.

All you have to do to enter is submit your title as a comment here.

Yes, you can enter as many times as you want, on as many days as you want. You can keep coming back, looking at other people’s titles and keep adding your own. The contest will be open for just over 48 hours and will close at midday (Melbourne time) on Friday 27 August, which is 3am Friday in London and 10pm Thursday in New York.

A special guest judge will choose the winning entry. There’s only one rule: no profanity. Have fun …. I’m throwing the gauntlet down NOW!

This shot was actually taken at Darling Harbour, Sydney, in April 2010, during an outdoor performance. We just happened to walk past and the only way I could shoot this image was by vaulting onto a wall and shooting downwards as the dinosaur completed its stint! You see, it was not a static display … it was actually a couple of performers in a full dinosaur outfit, lumbering around and interacting with the crowd!

AND HERE ARE THE RESULTS:

In fifth place is Sandra Moore with “And stepping onto the red carpet is Jurassic star……..”

In fourth place is LeslieBC with “You’ll wonder where the yellow went, when you brush your teeth with Pepsodent.”

In third place is Georgie Hart with “Man if only I’d held my seat in the recent election I wouldn’t have been reduced to this…”

In second place is Captured by Kylie with “They brought me back from extinction for this!?”

And we have a tie for first place. The joint winners are Ranald with “It’s always the same, a lovely shot and in walks the mother-in-law” and Allen Lucas with “Dear, how many times do I have to tell you to stop letting Fido swim near the nuclear plant drain?”

I do not crop, enhance or post-edit my images in any way. Shot with a Pentax K100D, using a Sigma 18-125mm lens. F5.6, 1/10 sec, ISO 800, focal length 125mm.
