Artist's Description

We’re in the middle of a major heatwave here in Victoria, even though summer is still more than a fortnight away.

This has been the hottest start to November in more than a century, with temperatures hovering unrelentingly around 34 Celsius (93 Fahrenheit) all week.

This simple image was shot outside Flinders Street Station, at a pavement vendor’s rack of water bottles for sale.

I was amazed that each water bottle actually showed partial reflections of the surrounding street scene. The hand-lettered cardboard sign says “$2.00 each”.

I do not crop, enhance or post-edit my images in any way. Shot with a Pentax K100D, using a Sigma 70-300mm lens. F8, 1/350 sec, ISO 400, focal length 260mm.
