Brass and wrought iron is always an interesting combination, because one reflects light and the other absorbs it. I shot this inside the Block Arcade in Melbourne last month.
I chose my angle carefully, to make use of the muted artificial light. But by shooting from this vantage point, I was also able to use depth of field to create a hint of the intricate mosaic floor one level further down.
I do not crop, enhance or post-edit my images in any way. Shot with a Pentax K100D, using a 70-300mm lens. F5.6, 1/45 sec, ISO 800, focal length 70mm.
