Artist's Description

This shot was taken at a Melbourne pool, about half an hour before the doors opened at lunchtime on Anzac Day, April 25 this year.

It’s interesting to note that the diagonal shaft of afternoon light in the top right-hand quadrant of the image is reflected even more strongly across the water, in the bottom right-hand segment.

I had special permission to use my camera inside the complex and this clear reflection of the many strong colours and shapes, reproduced on the dead-still water, caught my eye as I walked around.

I do not crop, enhance or post-edit my work in any way. Shot with a Pentax K100D, using a Sigma 18-125mm lens. F8, 1/90 sec, !SO 400, focal length 125mm.

Featured in BITS AND PIECES, July 2009.
