This shot of a grand piano (and its own reflection in the open lid of a nearby Steinway) was taken at Allans Music in central Melbourne in November 2008. 2,602 views and one sale on 9 July 2014.
The soft pools of light were a perfect foil for the dark timber. I asked – and was readily given permission – to get my camera out to shoot this frame.
The real piano ends two-thirds of the way down the frame. The rest is the reflection.
I do not crop or post-edit my images in any way. What you see is exactly what I shoot. I shot this with a Pentax K100D with an 18-125mm Sigma lens. Details: F4.5, 1/10th sec, ISO 800 and focal length 34mm.
