Artist's Description

It fascinates me that when one observes the people in a city during rush hour, they are all so different and so intent of “getting there”. This artwork tries to capture the physical, and clothing differences of individuals. It also brings out the sense of belonging, or conformity to what the majority thinks is acceptable behaviour. Having said this, I have no idea where all these people are heading, but such is the nature of doodles.

On reflection, I realise that this doodle has similarities to the theme of a famous and far superior artwork by John Brack, created in 1955 and called “Collins Street 5 p.m.” (Worth Googling!)

Pen sketch at A4, scanned and digitally coloured.

Thanks for viewing my artwork.
