A copy of the original pencil sketch created for the cover of the book entitled “Boots and All”, written by Ngaire Walhout, .
The book, now out of print, is about a padre, E.J. Miles, who during WWII was an inspiration to soldiers. He lived to be an old man but needed to have his legs amputated along the way, as a result of a life of smoking. The term “Boots and All” applies to how he lived life and as a way of reconnecting his boots to his soul.
