Artist's Description

This shot was taken from a small town called Columbia, California. Not far from where I live is the Sierra foot hills where mining was popular during the gold rush erra in the 1800’s. The gold mines in this area were founded by Mexican Gold Miners and in this towns height it was California’s second – largest City and briefly considered as a site for the State Capitol of California. In 1854 a fire had destroyed most of this town and was rebuilt with brick buildings. California Created Columbia State Park around 1945 and to this day is still up keeping this historic town. More than 100 Movies were cast here including ;

“HIGH NOON” staring Garry Cooper and Grace Kelly in 1952.

Pale Rider in 1985

Behind The Mask of Zorro in 2005
