Artist's Description

Jerusalem Artichoke; the origin of its common name somehow grew out of the Italian Girasol which means a flower that turns to face the sun.

The roots are edible, but I prefer to gaze into the brilliant little cluster of disk flowers at its center.
I took this photo along the edge of the Short line trail in Tallulah Falls State park, Rabon County, Georgia.
