The tiny partridge berry is common ground cover in the forests of Georgia and the rest of the southern USA. The berries are edible, but not very tasty. Birds seem to like them though, as do many insects.
I took this photo along the Shortline trail in Tallulah Falls state park, Tallulah Falls, Georgia.
