Interesting concept… Shame they’re not wearing bowler hats! Sadly, Beckett would never allow women to play either Estragon or Vladimir, ( or ate these two ladies Pozzo and Lucky???) Having women in Godott was proposed many times, but Becket would have none of it. Even now, after his death, it’s not permitted. He wasnt a misogynist though and wrote plays with women in mind, notably, Not I ( just a woman’s mouth) and Happy Days where a woman is buried up to her waist in sand. You could have fun with that one! I think he might have had a chuckle at this though…either that or sue you! X
I couldn’t fail to notice your “Feudian” slip, O. You wrote, “ate these two ladies”…what more can I say? lol. DV.
Sorry to disappoint but Freud had nothing to do with it. It’s a result of keying in comments using the iPhone. Just a typo I’m afraid…I did spot it after I posted but decided to leave it because…well I just thought is was slightly ‘Feudian’ and you obviously agreed. You know me too too well…. X
