Artist's Description

The Giant Australian Cuttlefish’s talent for transformation ranges in display from subtle to spectacular. This individual spread its body broadly on the seabed, and adapted its skin’s texture and pattern to resemble adjacent rocks. Their breeding population in Upper Spencer Gulf has crashed in recent years, and scientists and advocates alike are attempting to get to the bottom of their mysterious disappearance (no, it’s not just that they’re well hidden by camouflage). You can find out more at Cuttlefish Country
