Artist's Description

The coastal industrial town of Whyalla has a fine example of a thriving man-made wetland on the Eight-Mile Creek side of town. In this wetland, Pied Stilts like these pictured share the pickings with stints, avocet, swans, ducks, terns, moorhens and others in an interconnected series of ponds. This photograph was taken in December 2011 while producing the documentary film Cuttlefish Country
