Artist's Description

On a November snorkel at Hallett Cove in 2011, I saw several pairs and individual Magpie Perch, otherwise known as the Magpie Morworg. This fine example was munching on the rocky reef, filtering sand through its gills in the process. I also saw several larger animals (presumably males) chasing smaller ones. All the animals I saw were in 2-6 metres of water. This was my first time beneath the waters of Hallett Cove, and I was impressed by the number and variety of fish I sighted.
