Artist's Description

This Long-Tailed Pea-Blue butterfly was in a feeding frenzy on a hot March afternoon in Adelaide’s botanic gardens. A diminutive butterfly, the male’s wingspan is 25mm and the female’s is 27mm. The butterfly’s broad white band on the hind-wind combined with dual spots and short tail distinguish it from the millieu of tiny Australian blue butterflies.
