Artist's Description

During the great Giant Australian cuttlefish aggregation that occurs each winter in the waters between Whyalla and Port Bonython in South Australia’s Spencer Gulf, large males face off like this, competing by displaying scrolling patterns along their mantles. Fights between males do occur, but this is a farm more commonly seen contest.
