Artist's Description

This is an original woodcut print with a mono print under color application. It was inspired by my uncle who was World War II vet. He was in the army and flew on a bomber and shot down and became a prisoner of war. He was somehow disturbed by his experience. I lived with him around our household during my childhood. He would sit for hours quiet and down cast and endlessly smoking. He also carried a pad with a pencil inside his jacket and would constantly scribble illegible notes. There is deep disturbance in every person that can be borne in life without anyone else ever knowing about it. No one can ever fully know anyone elses pain, grief, or regret.
