Having been interested in photography from about the age of 14 when I was given my first SLR, over recent years I have began to really focus on my photography with the aim of taking it to the next level.

I photograph a range of subjects and always looking to try new skills or photographing things in new ways to give them a different look. While I take inspiration from other photographers, I try to create a style that is my own.

When I am out I try to focus on what I think will make an interesting and unusual photo first. For me, the enjoyment has to come first. I have to enjoy what I’m taking a photo of and I try to make that come across in my photos. I feel this is vital to continue to enjoy it.

Now, having switched to digital over the last 4-5 years I’ve developed an understanding of the digital darkroom process and use these skills to improve or alter my photos, occasionally with some unusual results. I also take some images purely for what I can later do with them using photo editing software.
