Fairies Featured in Flowers in Macro Group - THANK YOU!

Okay, before I had the honor of having Fairies featured this week, I was already a big fan of the new Flowers in Macro group! This is the PERFECT group for me and I am so enjoying surfing around there. It’s so much fun to find like-minded people who love to explore the natural detail, color, and beauty of a simple flower!

Thanks so much for the feature!

Thank you for the Feature - Pay It Forward!

Thank you to Emma Robinson for featuring me in the Pay It Forward forum of Nature’s Macro Canvas! Her work is beautiful and I am honored!

In turn, I have the honor of featuring taueva who has such an eye for rich color and has some amazing and unique shots on her page!

Thanks again!! Just wanted to share the news and spread a little sunshine about two great artists too!

Blue Tulip on the Home Page and a quiet little thank you...

I was again so excited to find my photo, Blue Tulip, on the home page recently. It is an honor to have something I have created be shared with so many. I love the simplicity of that shot. It started out as a pink tulip against a makeshift background (a navy blue towel). The original photo is very pretty, and when I tinkered with it a bit in my new photo editing program, I was pleasantly surprised with the result. I just love contrast in a photo, and I think that one had contrast and a quiet mood about it. So if you noticed my blue tulip on the home page or here on my page, here is just a quiet little thank you for taking the time to notice…

Follow the Yellow Brick Road

I am finding that, as I float around the bubble and critically look around me right where I am, I am on a fascinating journey that is changing my experience of the world. I am on a search for beauty. I feel like there is a part of my brain that is waking up, that has been sleeping for a long time. I’ve always made an effort to find something to appreciate in each day…now my experience is to not only find it, but to capture it and keep it, then share it. I am a chronic learner, and constant student, but I have to say that I never thought I’d be seeking this. It is a thirst, and I know that I am on an important journey, a path like the first little spiral of Dorothy’s yellow brick road. Around I go, and I am a little dizzy, I admit, but I have a feeling that it is leading somewhere spectacu…

Woo hoo! The Home Page!!

Okay, so this afternoon I opened up redbubble and my first thought was, boy that’s pretty…then the shock smacked me in the face and I shouted “whoa!” and called my husband. (Poor guy, he came flying down the steps thinking someone was hurt.) There was my Petal Waves shining on the home page. I am soooo excited to have my photo there, and feel very honored to know that people all over the world are seeing it. The comments have been great. I feel like I’ve entered this new world and am very happy to be here!

Here we go...

So this is my first entry…I am really enjoying this whole new redbubble world! I am so very new to photography – well, to taking photos to share. I have always been so visual that I can be drawn into a beautiful image effortlessly. That’s probably one of the reasons I married a very talented artist (he’s on here too…MOC2). Wanting to see if I could create some beauty of my own, I got my first digital SLR for my birthday a few months ago and am still learning how to use it. I have a Nikon D40 which is really brightening my world. I am also very new to using a photo program to enhance color, adjust lighting, etc. I think my creative side is bubbling up…and I am enjoying every second of it.
