Artist's Description

Across the Peron Peninsula of Shark Bay, there is a 3.4km fence to keep out feral predators of endangered native species. Since this fence was constructed, control measures such as trapping and baiting have all but eliminated introduced predators. These endangered species are now thriving on the peninsula without the presence of introduced predators such as foxes and feral cats. Re-appearing native fauna include the brush-tailed bettong, the rufous hare-wallaby, the Western barred bandicoot, the Shark Bay mouse, the Western quoll, the banded hare-wallaby, and the malleefowl.
