I was born in Buenos Aires, in 1960, where I live and work as a
painter, writer and proffesor. I have studied philosophy and history at the university of Buenos Aires (UBA).
I work on three different series, alternating cyclically from one to another along the last ten years. These series are as follows: Organic Cycle, Urbanized Zone Cycle and Mute Cycle. Each one of them tries to face different ways in my search of opening a door up to the receptor. This search could be held in one concept: the esthetic object begins from the other side of working: the receptor’s side. From this point of view, the act of painting is only a suggestion, a proposition, instead of a conclusion.
The Mute Cycle consists on black and white works, in allusion to the mute cinema. Black and white holds the passage zone: a pre-real zone or a post-real zone but never an actual real one. Free of any colors –in the common meaning of “color” definition- images are as well free of representation, in order to let life of introspection emerge: it is the search of insight world. The Organic Cycle is deliberated monochromatic. Painting work focuses on organic volumes and its possibilities of suggestion, association and intertwining of shapes. Erasing the limits of the references –again- the search focuses on deconstruction of representation in order to let emerge interstices free of fixed meaning, opened to receptor’s interpretation. Urbanized Zone Cycle is the result of fast attacks to the surfaces. Hush, jagged and often unrefined paintings, most of them are polychromatic. Despite of Cycle’s name, these are not only about exterior urban spaces. What makes them urbanized is the brushes strokes. The works of this series are a response to the rush and violence of the big city; a response focused on the brushing type on use, very different from the one of the other cycles.
Note: I am trying to improve my English in order to make this introduction more intelligible. So will be back here and edite it; meanwehile, I thank very much for your patience on reading this mess!
