Artist's Description

A Red Admiral butterfly stops to feed on wildflowers in an Ohio nature reserve. The Red Admiral is a commonly found butterfly throughout North America, Asia and Europe. It’s identified by it’s dark brown, red and black coloring with bands of bright orange. It is one of the last butterflies to be seen in the summer and will sometimes hibernate. This beautiful specimen was spotted along the nature trails at Old Woman Creek in Huron, Ohio.
