When The Heart Begins To Break

I sit here in my slumber, dormant in body, mind and soul.
Eyes sting and swell in preparation for the grief, the beginnings.
Stomach knots, tears arrive, balancing on the brink before they fall.
Face blank, no smile, no frown, no sign of impending decadence.
Panicking quietly in my head, just whispers start the journey of catastrophe.
Twiddling thumbs, bowing head. The confusion felt is turning to dread.
Why now? Why me? Why here? Why he? Questions? Yes here they come.
Eyes shut and tears stream down, the sounds from within burst out.
I don’t recognise them at all. Has my body ever produced such sounds?
Never, not ever. When the heart begins to break its like no feeling ever!
