The Authentic Doll

Paint the pretty china doll.
Glorify the Barbie.
Slide inside the puppet.
Create tales of a sweet bliss.

Who distorts her mirrors?
Smudged porcelain screams in the shadow.
Sequins decorate the mold.
The marionette is smiling -Mission accomplished. The figurine commands the envy of rag dolls everywhere.

Who is that?
Who’s the girl shining brighter than the moonlight?
Oh never mind – she’s merely a real person.
Sculpted plastic deserves love’s authenticity.

Dance in your dark playground real girl.
The iridescent skies are for toys only.
China dolls don’t sit pretty on a shelf.
They command the stage of life.
