Wilson's Promontory

I recently took a journey to one of my favourite places… Wilson’s Promontory in Victoria, Australia. Although I’ve hiked a number of the available tracks there on previous visits (including overnighters) I haven’t been so spoiled to see so much birdlife than what I saw on this visit. It might have something to do with the weather – on many times in the past it’s been rather hot (summer months) but although this was summer (early December) it was rather cold (or maybe that’s just cos I live in Alice Springs)… whatever the case the weather did not facilitate any opportunity to get wonderful landscape shots, not for want of trying, so I concentrated on building up a little more practice on the wildlife…

I’m extremely happy with using the Canon EOS 7D. Although it uses up so much memory on the CF cards (file sizes huge due to the fact I’m shooting in both raw & jpg) I could not be happier with the results. I’m currently using 16gb cards and don’t think I’ll be using anything smaller than this into the future.
