Breathing You

Sat down and cried tonight,
As I gazed at your picture in the candlelight.
A tear rolls down my cheek as I wonder what went wrong.
When will I cry my last tear for you?
Another day, another day and you’re still gone.
Another morning I wake up alone
Wondering when I’ll stop crying when I hear our song.
When will I stop looking at our pictures remembering every kiss?
Why, every time I close my eyes,
Do I see your face?
With every breath I take,
I’m breathing you,
Breathing in your memory.
Bittersweet words whispered so long ago.
I cry and I cry wishing that you didn’t have to go.
What did I do wrong? Where did I fall short?
I guess I couldn’t be what you needed me to be.
I’m sorry, but the only thing I can be,
Is me.
