Artist's Description

Wow! Now here’s a shot you won’t see again. I took this picture on my first, and probably only, visit to Saint Louis, MO, November 2005, from the top of the Arch, overlooking the new Busch Stadium half built, and the old Busch Stadium half demolished. The two stadiums, in this once-in-a-lifetime view, face each other like opposing giant capital "C"s. Take me out to the ballgame!

UPDATE Nov 2011: Originally posted in October of 2007, this image has received all of 135 views. Rather than send it to oblivion for lack of interest, I have replaced the original image with a new and improved version and submitted to a few new groups.

Admittedly, the old version was a bit dark but, still, it does depict an important image for sports fans, baseball enthusiasts, and people who have attachments to particular sports arenas. The original image was, of course, processed in photoshop because that was all I knew. With my new machine and some nifty little editing apps, i ran this first thru HDRtist to make it pop, then added 35 percent of the Lyndale effect in FX Photo Studio Pro and, finally took it to PSE10 just for resizing for a better pixel count and improved reproduction. My intention in reworking the image was to give it almost a newspapery, sharp edged drawing effect that would catch the eye. It is a lot more fun to look at than the old, rather dark version.
