"Comforter"

One Troubled man
With a tender child
This broken home…
His dear gone wild.
She left him singlehandedly
No note of why
No kiss goodbye
Just walked ..no sympathy

What does he do?
How does he share…
With his baby girl
That her mother didn’t care?

He knows one thing ; he walks by faith
He’ll find a way
He’s not alone, his first love still remains
Listen as he desperately prays….

“Oh Comforter, my one best friend
How can this be?…Is this the end?
I thought I knew her through and through
How could our ties just come unglued?
But even so.. our baby girl ;
How do I raise her in this lovesick world?

Erase the doubt, remove the fear
I must be strong, and contain my tears
Baby must know, her father won’t leave…
But Lord what about me?…it’s still hard to breathe.
When my dear left, I’m sure you know,
She carried far my trust.. my joy
I left it out where moths and rust destroy…
What’s next.. what’s left to gain?
Holy Spirit pave the way
For all my efforts are in vain.”

So baby grew, and so did I…
my troubled self was no match for you!
She knows the truth.. about the past..
Her mother, my dear, ….her memories last
Her beauty she left behind.. in our daughters lovely eyes
Shares the same thoughts, as her mothers wonderful mind
…. We prayed for mommy everyday,
but we moved on and let mommy go
Into the land of the unknown.

Baby became proverbs 31…
And soon became a wedded one,
She stood before me such a lovely bride…
That day I broke..and again I cried.

“Oh Comfoter, we’ve become so close
through the years, only heaven knows..
but I stand again.. a lonely man
but this time I’m not afraid to stand..
No regrets.. it’s time to let go…
I can make it this time I know,
I’ve been stretched and tricked and played..
But my baby and I, you kept us safe
I’ll continue on.. and still love my dear..
and still love our baby… I’ll write down love here
It hurts , it’s hard..
but I’ll never stop..
I won’t let go..
Show me my next love.
Oh comforter… you’re my soul’s love.

Artist's Description

This is a story of a man who’s wife left him and their new baby girl alone.. without reason of leaving.
This is just an example of a major hardship that we as humans will eventually face in this life on earth…
The man I write about is in love with his Jesus and decides to trust Christ to bring himslef as well as his daughter out of the desperte situation they were placed in……. The moral of this poem is to show that love is something that never stops… no matter what. The Father in this poem chooses to let love live in every instance… because he knows that unconditional love is what the Comforter gives him. He loves his wife after leaving him to raise their baby alone. He loves his God in spite of the rut he is in. He loves his baby girl enough to share Christ love with her as she grew…. The Father is an example of how we are to allow Christ to take us to new levels of “love”… trust… and faith… and know how to let go of the pain of things that leave. God’s love is limitless.. and life is hard, dangit!… But that’s no reason to close up and let your heart dry out in bitterness…. Pour out!
