Artist's Description

I just can’t seem to keep away from my Shirakawa (aka Hinamizawa) folder.

One of the odd things about the village is that it is situated right on top of a set of mountain springs.

Water is everywhere there. Instead of gutters, there are streams.

Fish live in the gutters in Hinamizawa.

I really didn’t notice this fact until after we all went to bed on teh first night in the town, but as soon as we turned off the lights, the fact that I could hear running water hit me.

Anyway, since the water pretty much jsut flows out of the ground, a lot of people have constructed these little water features around their homes, I guess for watering horses or dogs or the like.

It’s just another one of those facts that makes me jsut wanna quit my job and move there….
