Lauriano Drive

oh nostalgia,
my dear friend
how you tease me
like a lover in heat,
making me itch
making me warm
seducing my time,
leaving me confused and pleased…
like a virus,
you are not alive,
only co existing,
feeding off of faded pictures,
old smells,
the tune from dishwashers….
but i like it………..
i want you to stay around and give me more,
multiplying in my cells
you feel so good it hurts,
oh nostalgia how you made me
fall in love again with
the wooden bench in your patio
at your old house
that one summer day,
with it’s dust collecting with every laugh,
insight,
hope……………
overlooking the sidewalk,
front lawn,
brown car,
i want to sit in that one
and only ordinary bench on
that one and only ordinary day,
and feel safe again,
feel that feeling that
i was supposed to be there
at that time,
sun being lazy at midday,
shorts,
t shirt,
my unkempt shoulder length hair,
your pink,
purple,
yellow,
and
green
nail polish,
forgot about school,
forgot about t.v.,
forgot about faces,
forgot about everything else,
all there was was
the bench and us
