Artist's Description

The sculpture “Saint John of the Cross (San Juan de la Cruz)” was made by Francisco Antonio Gijon in 1675. The sculpture is made of polychromed and gilded wood with sgraffitto decorations (estofado). “Saint John of the Cross” was photographed at the National Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C.
