Arlington Memorial Bridge crosses the Potomac River connecting Washington, D.C. with the state of Virginia. The bridge begins at the western end of the National Mall directly behind the Lincoln Memorial and goes across the river to Arlington National Cemetery.
As a child I remember watching on television the funeral procession of President John F. Kennedy as it came across Arlington Memorial Bridge to bury the President in Arlington National Cemetery.
On April 4, 1980, Arlington Memorial Bridge was added to the National Register of Historic Places.
