Artist's Description

Sculpture by Philippe-Laurent Roland of his wife, Therese Francoise Potain Roland, done in 1782/1783.

Philippe-Laurent Roland was a French sculptor who lived from 1746 to 1816. His art is neoclassical in style and may be seen on the facade of the Louvre in Paris.

“Wife of the Sculptor”, one of his most famous works, was photographed at the National Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C.
