Artist's Description

The lone walker in this photograph and I have something in common, we both love to walk laps around the rooftop terrace of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, DC. Three laps makes a mile, and I can walk nonstop for hours — unless my camera is with me, in which case I stop a lot to photograph whatever it is that catches my eye. The rooftop terrace is a peaceful place to walk, it is relatively quiet even though occasionally some of the street noise from below, such as sirens, can be heard. But the most delightful thing about walking around the terrace is that with each lap you get a 360 degree view of the city, and that is awesome.
