Artist's Description

This famous statement is from President John F. Kennedy’s Inaugural Address on January 20, 1961. It reads, “And so, my fellow Americans: ask not what your country can do for you – ask what you can do for your country. My fellow citizens of the world: ask not what America will do for you, but what together we can do for the freedom of man.” This message is as timely today as it has been throughout American history, and I have been thinking of it lately as the country struggles with what to do with Syria. (This was photographed at the grave site of President John F. Kennedy in Arlington National Cemetery.)
