How hot is your car?

That’s one hot car! It was 91 outside today, but insidie the car it was over 200!
I did get a reading of 213 degrees (above boiling) prior to taking photos. Never leave an animal or child in a car.

Halot (Finnish for Halos)

Published in Halot

Halot – A new book, “Halos – The optical phenomena of ice crystal clouds”, authored by Marko Riikonen, a world expert on ice halos.

The book is only published in Finnish at the moment; but the photos and diagrams are excellent.

A photo of mine is published and explained on page 41 of this new book.

National Science Foundation Exhibition

Today I received confirmation that my picture Inside a Rainbow will be included with a portion of the exhibition, The Atmosphere Exposed: Photographs of Halos, Mirages, Iridescent Clouds… and More! will be on display at the National Science Foundation come January to March 2012! To prepare the exhibition for the NSF, they are professionally re-printing images on more durable substrate. The NSF has released funding to us for this purpose.
Accompanying the photographs will be an introductory panel along with scientific explanations (courtesy of Les Cowley and Chuck Adler) of disparate phenomena.
Needless to say I am quite excited about this invitation!
