A Drive-By View of the Jersey Shore

We took a trip along Rte 35 in New Jersey today. For those who don’t know, Rte 35 runs North-South along the Jersey Shore. Rte 35 has been re-opened to the public, and people can support the stores that are open in the Barrier Island. However very few stores are open yet, and it has a long way to go before things are normal. Here’s a trip inside Seaside Heights and then North on Rte 35 to see the progress. The Police are out if force, and that’s a good thing to see. There is also a pedestrian curfew around 4:30PM, and no one is allowed onto or near the beach.…

The video is not edited for red lights or sound, and takes as long as a regular car ride.
Feel free to pause it or skip through as you wish. Best viewed at 720HD and full screen.

How hot is your car?

That’s one hot car! It was 91 outside today, but insidie the car it was over 200!
I did get a reading of 213 degrees (above boiling) prior to taking photos. Never leave an animal or child in a car.

Halot (Finnish for Halos)

Published in Halot

Halot – A new book, “Halos – The optical phenomena of ice crystal clouds”, authored by Marko Riikonen, a world expert on ice halos.

The book is only published in Finnish at the moment; but the photos and diagrams are excellent.

A photo of mine is published and explained on page 41 of this new book.
