"My Creativity" an interview with Ash Sivils

This week I got a chance to interview one of my favorite artists on redbubble, Ash Sivils. Thank you so much for opening up to give us some insite into your incredibely creative mind.

How does being a creative person and pursuing your creativity affect other aspects of your life?

Being creative means my brain never shuts off! I was diagnosed with insomnia
at an early age, along with other “illnesses” … I often see things differently,
not only artistically, or how it could be. I see relationships and people in an
odd light, I tend to keep to myself more then I should. I am very opinionated
and passionate about everything I do, so I have been told. I am an obsessive compulsive idea freak! Some days I feel if I wrote all of my ideas and thoughts
down I would deflate! Like I have said before, I am a realist and the only way I
can butt in any conversation is with art… it is a curse and a blessing!!!

Tell us about one person or moment that has made your time on RB
particularly special or meaningful

Wow, now there is a tough question. I honestly can’t point my finger
in one direction. So many members here have treated me with the
up most respect! Every artist that I can had the pleasure to conversate
with has brought me more enlightenment and in site, not only to their
personality but to myself as well.

Cameron Gray has ponted me in directions to his textures and
has been very nice and supportive. Krisso is just an all around wonderful
man and artist. He and I chit chat from time to time. Lloyd Harvey and
I get to pick on one another here and on other sites as well..Brion,
Headcrime, Henk Stolk.. the list goes on and on! I also would like to
say thank you to everyone who has messaged me, bought work or just
gave support, it means the word to me! Keep in mind these are just
a few of the fantabulous members here I have had to joy of meeting!

Show & tell us about five works on redbubble that have moved or inspired you

These pieces are in no particular order. I can’t say that I was or was not
inspired by them, but I can say I adore these guys. The pieces I chose are
the ones that I go back and admire time after time. I attempt to not be
swayed by other artist’s creations, I would never want to rip their style
or sell myself short, I feel it would be disrespectful.

Beast by KillerNapkins

Narcotic by Charles Winslow

Once Human 4 by Cameron Gray

No Title 45 by Headcrime

Owl Monkey by Rob Stanley
